Welcome to the Christian Life!
Growing Up in Christ
SALVATION & THE NEW BIRTH
Jesus is the evidence of God’s love and grace toward us. He was sent into this world to break the bonds of sin and suffering in our lives and to bring us into relationship with God. Salvation comes when we believe in our heart and confess with our mouth that Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead for our justification. Salvation is the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit that cleanses us from all our sin and makes us into a new creation. It is a free gift from God that accompanies our new birth. It takes us out of a state of spiritual death, disconnected from God into a state of spiritual life where we can now connect spirit to Spirit with our heavenly Father who is Spirit.
John 3: 16, Romans 10: 9-10, John 3:3 – 8, Ephesians 2:8
SANCTIFICATION
It is the work of the Holy Spirit taking us to perfection. The work begun with the New Birth.
1Corinthians 6: 11

PRAYER
Prayer is important to the life of every believer. It is essentially our means of communicating with God, seeking His wisdom and guidance on every issue of life.
Psalm 5; Psalm 55:17
BIBLE STUDY
As a new believer, your growth in Christ requires daily reading and studying the word of God. The Bible outlines timeless principles to equip us for daily life.
Psalm 119:33; 2 Timothy 2:15
FELLOWSHIP
Unity of the Church demonstrates to the world the power of Jesus Christ to bring us together to love and care for each other.
1John 1: 5-7; 1Corinthians 12: 25-26

WATER BAPTISM
A divinely given ordinance to mark the Christian’s commitment to live in union with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.
It is not a means of salvation, for sin can only be cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. Baptism is a testimony to the believers’ own heart, to the Church and to the world, that their faith and trust are in the finished work of Christ on the cross. It is symbolic of that change which has already taken place when you accepted Christ and were born again.

Acts 2: 41, Acts 8: 36-38
BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
It is the Holy Spirit of God coming to live in you. Speaking in a heavenly language is an initial supernatural sign of His indwelling.
